Have fun making models... of living things !
Life is probably the main source of complexity in our world.
Working in complex systems since the beginning of my career, lately I
turned my attention to several projects dealing with biological
problems at different scales where I have been mainly involved in
their mathematical modeling. In this talk, I will cover the two most
recent of these problems : growth and rheology of Pseudomonas
biofilms grown in agitated media and bet-hedging in fluctuating
environments, from the point of view of a statistical physicist.
